IMMANUEL: The name Immanuel means "God with Us." It is a constant reminder that we walk as Christians in this world, not by ourselves, but with our God, who is our Shepherd. Jesus Christ is the ultimate picture of Immanuel, for as it says in John 1, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." The Word is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who took on human flesh for our salvation.
COVENANT: Covenant refers to God's gracious relationship with his people. He gives us a promise which is extended to our children that he will be our God and we will be His people.
REFORMED: The name Reformed points back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century, where God lead his church out of a false and oppressive church, into a fuller understanding of His word and worship.
CHURCH: We are a church. The Church refers to the people of God. It is not a building, but His people. We are called together as a fellowship from many different backgrounds, experiences, and nations, and we are bound together in unity, for we all have one Lord, one faith, and one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
