Our Mission
Immanuel Covenant Reformed Church, rooted in the Reformed tradition and united in Christ, exists to:

Worship God in Spirit and truth through reverent, biblically-grounded liturgy,

Preach the gospel and administer the sacraments faithfully,

Obey Scripture, living under its authority in every aspect of life,

Share Christ’s love, proclaiming and demonstrating the gospel in word and deed.
Reformed Christian
Our Beliefs
We are a congregation that has her historical roots in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century. We believe and live according to the five solas of the Reformation; namely that scripture alone is our rule for faith and life, and that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, on the ground of Jesus Christ alone and for the glory of God alone.

Confessions
As a Reformed church, our spiritual heritage is traced back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. The Protestant Reformation recovered the supreme importance of the Bible’s authority for faith and life and the truth of God’s sovereignty in salvation. To defend the biblical truth against error and to unite faithful Christians in the confession of that truth, the Reformed churches adopted confessional documents to serve as faithful summaries of biblical truth. The three historic confessional documents of the Reformed churches are:
These documents are often referred to as the Three Forms of Unity because they serve as the basis for the confessional unity of the members of our congregation, and confessional unity among the churches in our federation; the United Reformed Churches in North America. We confess that these documents accurately summarize the fundamental truths of Scripture.
Our Worship
Liturgy
Liturgy refers to our worship. We acknowledge that we stand in a rich tradition of biblical worship. A number of keys features are:
1. Our worship is a dialogue between God and His people. God speaks and the congregation responds.
2. All worship must be regulated by the Word of God. If an element of worship cannot be found in the Word of God it is therefore unallowable.
3. The Preaching of the Word of God is to be central in worship. All of the other elements of worship are leading up to or flowing out of the preaching of the Word.
Our Name

Immanuel
The name Immanuel means "God with Us." It is a constant reminder that we walk as Christians in this world, not by ourselves, but with our God, who is our Shepherd. Jesus Christ is the ultimate picture of Immanuel, for as it says in John 1, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." The Word is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who took on human flesh for our salvation.

Covenant
Covenant refers to God's gracious relationship with his people. He gives us a promise which is extended to our children that he will be our God and we will be His people.

Reformed
The name Reformed points back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century, where God lead his church out of a false and oppressive church, into a fuller understanding of His word and worship.

Church
We are a Church. The Church refers to the people of God. It is not a building, but His people. We are called together as a fellowship from many different backgrounds, experiences, and nations, and we are bound together in unity, for we all have one Lord, one faith, and one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
